Personal Omega 3 Side Effect
by Frank S
(New York)
Hi. I’m 45 years old and in good health. 2 years ago, after getting ill from insecticide (for west niles spraying), I suffered swollen thyroid, dizziness, severe brain fog, anxiety...etc., the basic works.
After finally getting back on track and good health, I’ve been taking supplements but in a well balanced way. I started taking omega 3, in pill form and moved eventually to liquid (free of metals, pcv and other toxins - organically based). I finally narrowed it down to the omega 3, which was causing internal neck inflammation feeling, and slight head tension etc.
I am sure of it because I stopped on a few occasions and it proved itself out. What would cause this to take place, and could it be a side effect to the vitamin D I’m taking, or the A-C vitamins I’m also taking? I do space most apart, but it’s most likely that the omega 3 doesn’t agree with me.
Okay, if you have any knowledge on this let me know.
Thanks.
Answer:
I f I were in your place I would stop taking ALL supplements for several weeks to see if the condition clears itself. Then I would restart one by one, starting with the worst possible offenders. Check for a week or so with each supplement. That should eliminate doubts.
What you are describing as caused by fish oil is very rare, internal neck inflammation, I never heard of anything like that. I would suggest switching the omega 3 make to some other molecularly distilled fish oil.
Also, be careful with the quantities of Vitamin A you take, it accumulates in your body and could have the potential to be toxic.
