Omega 3 in Egg Whites or Yolks

by Danna
(Miami)

Hi,I prefer not to eat the yolk of an egg but I know eggs are a good source of omega 3 fatty acids. Are omega 3's found in the egg whites? Are there omega 3 fatty acids in egg whites or just the yolks?

Thanks

Answer:

Omega 3, that is EPA and DHA the acids found in fish oil, is in almost zero quantities in eggs coming from modern egg producers. You see, they feed their hens all kinds grains and some other stuff you won’t believe. As a result of that the eggs you buy at the grocery has NO omega 3 and are overloaded with omega 6. Not very healthy.

You can find omega 3 in free range cattle, fish from cold deep waters and free range poultry. Still the best and cheapest source of omega 3 is fish oil, cod liver oil and krill oil.

Try looking for Omega 3 eggs, they are available in most places. You can read more about Omega 3 Eggs

My best for you
