"the best sources of omega 3 are fish oil,
cod liver oil and krill oil"

Answer:

Omega 3, that is EPA and DHA, the acids found in fish oil, is in very small quantities in eggs coming from modern commercial egg producers. You see, they feed their hens all kinds of grains and some other stuff you won’t believe. As a result of that, the eggs you buy at the grocery have NO substantial amount of omega 3 and are overloaded with omega 6. Not very healthy.

Some 20 years ago the first studies relating the lack of heart disease with fish oil consumption started to appear. Since that time they have been trying to increase the omega 3 content of several products like beef, pork, different fish, milk and eggs.

Since the early 90īs it was found that is you fed hens with a high omega 3 diet they will produce eggs with a high omega 3 content.

It was then that the first studies were done on how these eggs would affect the blood lipids of people consuming them. Excellent results were obtain since the first trials.

it is a well known fact that a change in the diet of any animal will produce a change in the fatty acids content of the end product. Thus, fish, pork, cows, and hens when given a high omega 6 diet would have meat, milk or eggs high in omega 6 fats. The contrary is also right.

The hen’s diet is usually changed by giving them 15 to 30% flaxseeds. This way 200 mgrs. Omega 3 fatty acids eggs are obtained( 3 to 6 more times than normal eggs)

It is a well known fact that the normal western diet has an omega 3 deficiency. This makes 90% of the population prone to have a very low omega 3 supply. That is to say, there is an excess of omega 6 fats in our diet that come from eating too much grains, affecting the omega 6/ omega 3 ratio.

Try looking for Omega 3 eggs ; they are available in most places.

Still the best source of omega 3 is fish oil, cod liver oil or krill oil.

Most people don’t - and as a result they do not enjoy the level of vibrant health that they should! Instead they suffer from avoidable ailments such as heart disease. Even worse, many people as they get older, gradually ‘lose’ their mind and live out their twilight years not even recognizing their friends or family.

Scientists throughout the world believe a great deal of the suffering caused from these diseases could be avoided by adequate intake of an essential Omega 3 fatty acid found in fish oil called DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid) You may want to read this information.
