Is Smoked Salmon High in Omega 3?

Hi, I just thought of this: are smoked salmon high in omega-3?
Thanks,
Vincent
Answer:
I would say, no. Smoked salmon is not the same as salmon, raw salmon (high in omega 3 content). This last one has a high omega 3 content, if you eat it raw or cook it at low heat. But omega 3 fatty acids are fats that oxidise VERY easy, in a few hours if you let it at room temperature or if you cook it at high temperatures.
Contrary to omega 6 fats, that do not oxidize easily at room temperature. One of the reasons they are so cheap, the vegetable oils I mean (High in omega 6)
Whatever omega 3 had the raw salmon gets rancid with the time and temperatures exposure when you smoke it. So if they have any omega 3 left is very low.

P.S. Don’t forget your daily fish oil for your entire family and always take along an antioxidant, like vitamin E, to prevent oxidation inside your body. You can find omega 3 fish oil, molecularly distilled, free of impurities sent anywhere in the World at low reasonable price, Click here
