Ideas For Healthy Weight loss

Weight Loss and Eating Habits

Is this a good idea for being healthy and weightloss?
Here are the foods that i will be eating:

I am overweight and want to lose close to 10 pounds. I want to start a diet eating this:

The foods that I’m trying to desperately cut out forever are: chocolate, table sugar and salt, whipping cream, like heavy cream, anything that taste god, cream cheese, jam, bread in general, pasta, rice,

would this make me healthier? Other than keeping my caloric intake at 1200, any advice you could give me to lose weight?

Anything I should omit or add?

PS I don’t eat chips pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers, diet coke

Please give me dieting tips!!!

Thanks,

Laura.

Answer

Hi Laura:

Let me congratulate you for taking the responsibility of your health and weight in your own hands. It is the only way.

First, the worst thing you can do to your body is to start a diet, if it means reducing your calories to 1.200 calories a day. It will make your metabolism go crazy, first you will lose some pounds but sooner or later you have to give up (too much, too long effort).

The pounds you have lost were fat and muscle, but when you go back to your previous normal eating, you only gain fat (never muscle). At the end, after a lot of time and effort, you may end up with the same number of pounds, or more, but with less muscle in your body. That means you are more fat that at the beginning.

The ONLY way is to change the habits that took you where you are, overweight, the eating and lack of exercise habits.

Let’s talk about eating habits. I can see that you believe fat is fattening. Wrong…. That way of thinking is what produced the epidemics of obesity and degenerative diseases like heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. never seeing before. When you cut fat (there are only 3 macro nutrients: fats, carbohydrates and proteins), you compensate adding more carbs (usually, sugars, starches, sodas, breads, and all processed foods), since the protein amounts tend to remain constant.

The ideal way of eating would be to take vegetables, fruits, all free range proteins, nuts, “good fats”, eggs and dairy. Eating fats will satiate you faster and will keep you with no hunger for longer. On the opposite, low fat meals, will chase you back soon since you will be hungry after a couple of hours.

One important point: when you eat any sugar, all carbs are sugars, your liver convert them into fat in your stomach, if you are not an athlete using high amounts of energy, making your body to stay in “fat storage”( not fat using) mode most of the time.
