Hi. I am a mother of four that has serious migraine headaches and have heard that taking fish oil can help against my migraines, but I do not know how much of it to take.

Hi mother of four. I usually recommend, for a person in good health and ideal weight, to take 3.000 mg of fish oil (closet o 900 mg of EPA plus DHA, from the label) for prevention purposes. In your case I would also recommend you make sure your migraine is not coming from an allergic reaction to some of the grains in your diet.

Grains are not only inflammatory, the cause of many degenerative dieases like, arthritis, hypertension, obesity, high triglycerides, etc, but are also pro allergic. I would suggest you try to eliminate for 2 weeks all grains (especially wheat in all forms) sugars, grian oils and all processed food.

At the same time add 2 new ingredients to your health: daily exercise and omega 3 fish oil. It will benefit all areas of your health.

I am a mum of three who has suffered from the most debilitating migraine for the past ten years. I have tried so many treatments from the GP and from my own research but nothing has really helped.

Recently my son has started to take fish oil to help with his concentration at school so I decided to start to take a couple of the capsules a day myself. I have noticed a remarkable improvement and have not had any pain since I've been taking it. I have been taking two eye q capsules which gives me a total dose of 800mgs of omega 3.

I have migraine too, and I know it is a reaction to some food, like too much sugar, some kinds of cheeses, chocolate, and some fruits. When I started to take my omega 3 (1800 mg a day) to lower my triglycerides, the migraines crisis became smoother and they go away very quickly.
