How To Lower Triglycerides. When I have carbohydrates in the afternoons or at night, often I don’t sleep well, I have bad dreams and I wake up with a headache.

My triglycerides are on the high side, 250, and I am taking a drug to control them. Has anybody reported having headaches from carbohydrates?

It is not easy that carbohydrates could be the cause of your headaches. Nevertheless, anything can cause a headache, even an odour or a carbohydrate. Everything should be a suspect.

If I were in your place, I would start by eliminating the main suspects. First, eliminate the possibility your triglycerides drug is the cause; stay off it for a week and see your reaction.

Talking about triglycerides, you don’t need to take a drug to lower them, just lower your carbohydrates, do exercise everyday (it is essential for everybody) and take some omega 3.

Elevated triglycerides is the body’s answer to high omega 6 food ingestion. What are those omega 6 foods? Basically all carbohydrates. That is to say, sugars, grains and all their oils, vegetables and fruits.

Since we need vegetables for its richness in vitamins and oligoelements, and for its low carbohydrate content, we should keep eating them. The same for some fruits, although there are some with high carbohydrate and sugar content, that would be desirable to eat in small amounts.

However, sugars, grains and their oils, that is sugar in all forms, cakes, pasta, soy, rice, corn, potatoes, breads in all its forms, etc., are saturated with carbohydrates (Omega 6). They overload the body with Omega 6, which unbalance the Omega 6/ Omega 3 ratio.

We must maintain an Omega 6/omega 3 ratio near 1. It is the ideal for the optimal body operation, free of degenerative diseases. That is important to remember.

Many cereals produce allergic reactions like headaches, are fattening and addictive. They induce big insulin swings. Try to stay off carbohydrates for 8 days, see your reaction. No doubt you will feel much better.

Third, add one omega 3 capsule (1.000mg) every 3 days until you reach 3 per day. After a month of this changes measure you triglycerides, if they are still high you need more omega 3, exercise and fewer carbohydrates. That simple.
