Fish Oil Stopped Urine Leaking

by Shelly
(Indiana)

Hi. I started adding Fish Oil to my dog's food about six weeks ago. (She's a 13 yr old spaniel mix I adopted from the Humane Society in '98.) She was leaking urine in her sleep just about every night for approximately 8 months, and I was having to wash her bedding just about every day.

I started taking fish oil capsules myself about 5 weeks ago, and I decided to add it to her food too. I just pierce the fish oil capsule and drain the oil onto her dry (prescription renal health) food.

I was not expecting the fish oil to have any effect on her urine-leaking problem. I just thought the omega-3s would be good for her. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but every day now for almost 3 weeks, when I check her bedding--- it's totally DRY!!! I am SO surprised and pleased! She really seems to feel better too!

Answer:

Hi Shelly. Thanks for your testimony. I am glad your dog stopped leaking urine, it is a cumbersome problem but common at that age.

I do not believe it is a coincidence that after taking fish oil urine stopped leaking since omega 3 helps make better brain cell connections, probably giving her control over her bladder again.

I am also sure that her renal problems will improve if you feed her raw meat, specially organ protein if full of nutrients, that no dry food can give a dog. Try it, you will see her changes in days.
