Fish Oil Burp and Upset Stomach

Question:
What can I do to keep the Omega-3 Fish Oil pills I'm taking from upsetting my stomach? I have begun to take Omega-3 Fish Oil pills for my heart and my wife is taking them for our baby. "change your fish oil brand if it upsets your stomach"
When we take them, however, they cause significant gas and upset stomach. Is there something we can take with the pills to keep that from happening so we can get the health benefits without the upset stomach?

Answer:
Polyunsaturated oils, including the omega 3 fats, are extremely susceptible to damage from heat, light, and oxygen. When exposed to these elements for too long, the fatty acids in the oil become oxidized, that is rancid.
Rancidity not only alters the flavor and smell of the oil, but it also diminishes the nutritional value. More importantly, the oxidation of fatty acids produces free radicals, which are believed to play a role in the development of cancer and other degenerative diseases.
As a result, oils rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids should be stored in dark glass, tightly closed containers in the refrigerator or freezer. In addition, these oils should never be heated on the stove. So, instead of sautéing your vegetables in flaxseed or walnut oil, make a salad dressing using these oils.
When purchasing an omega 3 fatty acid supplement, remember that these oils are highly sensitive to damage from heat, light and oxygen. Choose a certified organic product that has been refrigerated and is packaged in a dark brown or green glass jar and be sure to store the product in your refrigerator or freezer.
You have to take small steps in order to get your body used to fish oil.
My suggestions:
1-Start with 1 capsule of 1.000 mg a day with empty stomach. If after 3 -5 days things are not going well try it AFTER you have eaten.
2- Once your stomach accepts 1 capsule add the 2nd and 3rd, etc one day after the next.
3-If you don’t get off first base, try a different brand of fish oil.
Fish oil burp:
Try different times of the day, before and after meals. It could also be an indication that the oil you are taking could be rancid. Or it may disappear after a few days. Last, try freezing the caps, this way they don´t dissolve in your stomach but in your intestine.
One final idea, try enteric-coated fish capsules. That should do it.
Abdominal discomfort. The same as diarrhea, it should disappear after a few days.
Increase antioxidant requirements. Taking 400 IU/ day of vitamin E may be enough to correct this situation.
Don’t forget your daily fish oil for your entire family. You can find omega 3 fish oil, molecularly distilled, free of impurities and sent anywhere in the World at low reasonable price,
