. First, there are 2 different types of omega 3 fatty acids. They are either from animal or vegetal origin. The vegetal origin is in the form of ALA, an acid and the animal is in the form of EPA and DHA, other acids. Animals convert ALA to EPA and DHA in orther to be assimilated by our body cells. The omega 3 you find in foods they announce everyday is from vegetable origin because if they use fish oil it would deteriorate very easily. If you take your omega 3 from vegetable origin there is no possibility that you fish allergy will affect you (this is from flaxseeds and other plants). Nevertheless, this is a less efficient way to take your omega 3 because your body will assimilate it easier if it is a fish oil. I would say, you should take a molecularly distilled fish oil(less impurities) and if it is causing you any symptoms, switch to a vegetable source omega 3. Please, also read

One Essential nutrient may be completely missing from our diets today, omega 3 fats. Omega 3 fats are essential for our hearts, minds and entire body. In fact, every cell of our organism needs omega 3 to work at its prime. For the last 30 years, hundreds of clinical studies have documented the benefits of omega 3 fish oil. Even the conservative American Heart Association (AHA) recommends it for people with risks of cardiovascular disease. The situation is that it is difficult to get the proper amounts of fish oil without risking dangerous contamination, if you want to take it from your diet. As an answer to that need, we offer molecularly distilled fish oil that comes from deep water fish, Hoki, a deep sea fish naturally high in DHA and unique to New Zealand. The oil is refined through extensive molecular distillation processes to remove any form of contamination. Click here to learn more .
