Answer:

Omega 3 Inflammation. Basically, there are 2 types of fats: saturated and unsaturated.


Omega 3, together with omega 6 and omega 9, are part of what is called polyunsaturated (an unsaturated fat) fats or fatty acids.

Omega 3 supplements are manufactured from oils extracted from cold water fish. Fatty fish like mackerel, lake trout, herring, sardines, albacore tuna and salmon are high in two kinds of omega-3 fatty acids, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Omega 3 is also found in good quantities in meats from animals fed with grass, not with grains.

Omega 6 is present is all grains, flours, sodas, cakes, sugars. We basically have an unbalance of too much omega 6 and too little omega 3 in our diets, close to 20 times more omega 6 than what we should have. So, we improve our health if we take less omega 6 foods and more omega 3. Omega 6 are pro inflammatory and omega 3 are anti inflammatory.

Even though it is a well known fact that omega 3 fish reduces heart disease , improves your mind and mood , protects against some cancers and improves your immune system, more than 90% of the population in the western hemisphere has an omega 3 deficiency.
