Cow's Milk vs. Soy Milk for 1 year old

milk vs soymilk

Question:

My 14 month can’t take cows milk well at all. It makes her constipated. So I switched over to soy milk. The soy milk is helping her poop pretty well. However, I would rather have her on cow’s milk because I know she needs the fat from the cow’s milk to help with brain development. Both of those milk are similar or is one better than the other?

The soy milk she is drinking right now is Silk Soy milk & has Omega 3- DHA. helps support heart, brain , & eye development. Should I be worried that she’s not able to drink cow’s milk right now?By myyy

"this is a warning about soy in
your infant´s formula"

Answer:

It is very important that you supplement your child’s diet with fish oil. The brain is 60% fat, mostly DHA( contained in omega 3). When all the brain connections are forming, in the early childhood, your brain needs more DHA. If it doesn’t find the proper amounts of omega 3 these connections never fully develop.

As for the soy, before you continue feeding her soy, do a search in internet for “dangers of soy” or soy side effects. You will learn that the concept is rapidly changing regarding soy (doctors may be the last to know this, as always). It can have deleterious effects in your hormones ( 8-10 years olds menstruating) and cardiovascular system. Watch out…...

Learn the powerful reasons why you want your children to avoid soy. Here are a few: it alters your hormonal system, your enzymes, all soy is genetically modified, changes your ability to absorb minerals and animal protein.

Your attention mothers, soy is present in almost all infant formulas.

All forms of soy should be avoided except fermented soy (tofu is not a fermented soy product, as many believe)
