Confused With Omega 3 Dosage

Hi: I have been told to take 6 omega 3 tablets a day: 2 with each meal (they are 'omega 3 fish oil' 1000mg, EPA 180mg and DHA 120 mg tablets).

On the pack it says to take 1 a day.

I have also been advised to take 2 multivitamin tablets a day (on the pack it says to take one a day).

Please could someone tell me if this sounds ok, or if it sounds like too much? I would be very grateful.

Thanks!

Answer:

The recommended dosage for a person at his ideal weight is 900 mg of omega 3 fats (EPA plus DHA), that is 3.000 mg of fish oil. You should take 6.000 mg of fish oil if you are overweight; have high triglycerides, diabetes or any other health concern.

You can take the 6.000 mg at one sitting of at every meal, it makes no difference.

Now, regarding the multivitamin, I don’t know what to tell you since it depends on the specification of the multivitamin you take you are taking and your individual health status.

Please, read Omega 3 Fatty Acids Dosage
