"a high omega 3 diet improves cerebral function"

Answer:

Hello: Sorry for the delay but I had some problems receiving the questions made.

Regarding your question, omega 3 is an ESSENTIAL fatty acid, meaning that the body of every human needs certain quantities in order to function properly.

In your son’s case, the best you can do to optimize his neurological function is by giving him the proper diet and exercise. This could be the approach by minimizing his omega 6 consumption and by a high omega 3 oil content.

Please, read:
Fish Oil Deficiency

Eating
The amounts of omega 3 should be minimum 3.000 mgs daily, hopefully 6.000 mg. An easier way to do that could be to use a liquid omega 3 instead of the capsules. That is equivalent to one or two spoonfuls per day, depending on the fish oil.

The ideal Omega 6 to Omega 3 ratio balance is 1/1. Unfortunately, in modern society is difficult to maintain that ratio due to the enormous amounts of Omega 6 we have been adding to our diet by eating grains and grain oils as our main calorie source.

That have shifted the ratio to 30/1, or more, creating the unbalance that is the perfect ambiance for degenerative diseases. For a better explanation see my page What is Omega 3.

In order to bring this ratio to a better figure, close to 1/1, we need to increase the Omega 3 fatty acids dosage and reduce the Omega 6. We should reduce the omega 6 avoiding all grains and grain oils. If you only increase the omega 3 fatty acids dosage but not decrease the omega 6 you may lose some of the omega 3 benefits

Good luck,
