Acne and Fish Oil

Fish oil for acne
Hello. I started taking fish oil and it was good and there was no side effect until 2 weeks later. I started growing acne, everyday there will be a fresh zip pop out of my face.
I have no idea whether it is the fish oil or some other stuff that might cause the problem..
So, does it have to do with fish oil??? The brand that I am taking is GNC.

Hi Victor. Fish oil is recommended as part of the diet to fight acne. This diet is an anti inflammatory diet with no starches (they have omega 6, pro inflammatory) , with some of the basic foods of the Paleo diet. That is, high in protein (grass feed cattle), “good fats” ( no grain oils, except olive oil) like butter, coconut oil, fish oils, eggs and raw milk.
The above diet will not only improve your acne problem but your overall health. I recommended as a way of eating for the rest of your life. It will help you avoid all the health risks derived from a high starch diet.
Is the oil you are taking an omega 3, 6 oil ? If it has omega 6, it would be pro inflammatory. It should only be omega 3.
I don´t know how old you are but there is one more aspect of the acne that could be affecting you: hormones. If you are in your teens you could be under the influence of lots of testosterone, that is a factor in acne. That is why I also recommend that you do 30 minutes of daily medium-high intensity exercise. It will stabilize all your hormones and it is also anti inflammatory.
Last, if you continue with your acne after the above, switch the fish oil brand to one that is molecularly distilled, like the one we sell here.
